Accord to research from organizations like The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and others:
80%+
of Americans report having participated in some form of gambling in their lifetime.
~15%
of Americans gamble at least once per week either live or online.
2-4%
of adults have problem gambling in the US. A prevalence rate similar to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Based on these statistics, across the four counties that make up the Greater Capital Region of New York State, as many as 20,000 individuals may have a gambling addiction.
In addition to those individuals presenting with a gambling disorder, thousands of others including spouses, children, parents, other family members, employers, neighbors and the general community are all negatively impacted by this disorder.
